1981 team member jay filbert here ! Been a lot of years coach remember maples 25 kelvin 0. First ever game wpg velodrome i was #35 outside linebacker moved to center for next 2 seasons . Walter you were a great coach and im coaching major jr rods offensive line after being retired for 15 seasons . Was major head coach of the rods major team from 1996-99 and midget head coach from 1991-95 too .i often think in games and practices about lessons and game tactics i picked up from you coach walter . Punting at sislers 5 yard line to winn 8-7 allways sticks in my mind as a life lesson and i pray one day my team can win a game in that fashion as a tribute to you walter and your brother doug

Nice job on the new sight.  Last football season was the 30th season of football at the Maples.  Football at the Maples started in Sept. 1981. I know that as I was the first head coach, from 1981 to 1984.  I was also Offence Co ordinator from 1992 to 1994.
